Scotscape has completed the second in a series of Living Wall installations for Marks and Spencer.

The new Norwich store is a ‘Sustainable Learning’ site and part of the company’s ‘Plan A’ programme which aims to make M&S the world’s most sustainable retailer by 2015 and to be carbon neutral by 2012.

During September, Scotscape installed an 8m x 20m AN Living Wall System at the Norwich store which features 112 plants per square metre – 16,800 plants in total.  The wall forms a key part of the building’s sustainability programme, providing improved thermal performance and insulation, delivering both carbon reduction and costs savings.

Having installed the system, Scotscape has responsibility for the ongoing maintenance of the wall, with an agreed programme of monthly visits.
